Two police officers in Dagestan are undergoing a service check after they declined to open a criminal case into a heist in Gereykhanovo (Suleyman-Stalsky District), Yuga.ru reports.
Two unidentified burglars broke into a store of construction materials on the night of April 10-11 and stole 275,000 rubles. The shopkeeper called the police in the morning. A group of officers arrived in the morning to check the store, they did not register the crime. A criminal case was initiated only on the order of the prosecutor's office.
Should the service check find any violations, the officers would be fired. They have already become suspects in a criminal case into abuse of authority.
