A counter-terrorist operation is taking place in the Kizilyurt region of Dagestan, RIA Novosti reports, citing a spokesman of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee.
He said that a militant group was surrounded in the village of Bavtugay. The number of militants is unknown.
A source in the Kizilyurt police said that there have already been several shoot-outs.
