Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili congratulated Georgians on the country’s anniversary of its independence.
"Our country is an independent and sovereign state. This is a great achievement that has been acquired at the cost of the blood of our people. We must cherish this victory and protect it, for which we fought for centuries. We must care about our motherland’s better future,” Sputnik Georgia cited him as saying.
The Prime Minister noted that today Georgia is on a path of "democratic development". This is the Georgian people’s choice, this is the only way for the development of our country, the way which will bring us into the 'European family'.
"Today we can say that we are much closer to our goal than ever. We must create decent living conditions for every citizen of our country; we must care about their well-being. I am sure we will build a strong state," Garibashvili summed up.
