70 illegal immigrants have been detained in the northwestern Turkish province of Canakkale, the Turkish news agency Anadolu said.
On May 25th 99 illegal immigrants were detained there: 80 citizens of Syria, and 19 citizens of Afghanistan.
Previously, 330 illegal immigrants who were trying to travel to Italy were detained in Turkey’s Mersin province in the country’s south-west. Moreover, 4 Turkish citizens involved in dispatching illegal immigrants to Italy were detained, Trend reports.
