A man whom physicians believe could be infected with a disease caused by the Ebola virus (BVVE) has been hospitalized in the US state of Kansas. This was stated by officials from the hospital at the University of Kansas, where the patient is, on Friday.
Previously, he was reported to have visited Sierra Leone, where an epidemic of this dangerous infection continues, and stayed at a hotel. Doctors diagnosed the man with symptoms which are characteristic to BVVE, including a high fever. It is not excluded that it may be malaria. Test results, which are expected to be known within two days, will bring clarity.
