The Third Moscow Olympics of national and local associations has taken place in the city of Moscow today. Public figures who visited the event noted for Vestnik Kavkaza that it was a true celebration of sports and friendship among peoples.
"Today is a great and wonderful holiday. Representatives of the cultural and national associations of regional groups will meet here. They passed the preliminary stages, in which more than ten thousand people participated. In the final today seven hundred participants will compete with each other in strength and dexterity. But most importantly, it is a true friendship. I am sure," the head of the department of national policy, inter-regional relations and tourism of the city of Moscow, Vladimir Chernikov said.
The same opinion was expressed by the director of the Congress of Peoples of the Caucasus, Ally Totorkulov: "For the third year these games take place here. It is a very good, international, youth, sports project. It should be encouraged, supported by both the city authorities and community organizations. In principle, we are willing to keep on moving in this direction," Totorkulov said.
"About forty different teams, most of them of different nationalities, have gathered here. Certainly, the scale of this event is not a global, but it's still an international friendship festival.
"Moscow is the capital of the largest and most multicultural country in the world. It ought to be international. Today the Games prove this fact.
