Armenia to cooperate with Iran in education sphere

The governments of Armenia and Iran signed a Program of Action within
the framework of cooperation in the spheres of education, science and
technology for 2010-2013 during the official visit of the Prime
Minister of Armenia to Iran, which took place from October 25 to 26.
The program was signed by the Minister for Education and Science of
Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, and the Minister for Science, Research and
Technology of Iran, Kamran Daneshdzhu, Armenia Today reports.

As part of the agreement the parties will carry out an annual exchange
of students. Armenia will provide the Iranian side with 5 postgraduate
places, and Iran will allocate for Armenian students 2 seats in the
Bachelor Program, 2 - in the Master Program and 2 - in the graduate
school.

A delegation of the Ministry for Science, Research and Technology of
Iran will be sent to Armenia in the near future to assess the
scientific level of the Armenian universities and to take necessary
steps for the recognition of diplomas of certain universities in
Armenia, the press service of the Armenian Ministry for Education and
Science said.
