32 people injured interrorist attack in Istanbul

32 people were injured in a terrorist attack in Istanbul on Taksim Square, Governor Avni Mutlu said, RIA Novosti reports.


He said that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber. 15 of the injured are police officers, 17 -- civilians.


None of the Turkish radical groups has taken responsibility for the attack. Previous attacks in Istanbul were carried out by Kurdish separatists fighting for autonomy.


Russian Premier Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressing support to all the injured and hoping for an improvement in their conditions.
