The state of counterterrorism operation, initiated last Sunday morning in the woodlands of Karabukhkent region of Dagestan, was cancelled Wednesday morning, RIA Novosti reported, citing Russian Federal Security Service Directorate on Dagestan press service. “The Control Center decided to cancel the state of CTO at 18:00 MSK in Karabudakhkent region”, - the authority said.
Sunday morning a group of militants was blocked in a woodland, south of Gudben village. The group was involved in assassination attempts of law-enforcers and planning of a terattack on the military. The state of CTO was necessary. Two militants were killed in the operation.
Officers of power departments found explosive devices and ammunition in the militant hideout during the CTO this Wednesday. Three self-made explosive devices, components for them, antitank grenades, F-1 grenades, VOG-25 grenades, 7.62mm ammo, equipment and food were found in the hideout, the interviewee said. He added that more ammunition was found in a trench-shelter, in the TCO zone on Tuesday, 13th April.
