Foreign citizens with AIDS, tuberculosis and some other diseases may
be deported from Russia starting from the 14th of November,
Fontanka.ru reports.
The regional authorities of state care will ensure the implementation
of preventive measures at the places of residence and employment of
foreigners, and then prepare the documents for their deportation in
accordance with the law "On procedure of exit and entry to Russia on
the basis of the undesirability of their stay.”
A decree issued more than seven years ago allows the deportation of
foreign patients from Russia, but its application has not been adopted
until now. The decree of 2003 stated that the presence of infectious
diseases is a basis for refusing a visa, as well as for the
cancellation of temporary residence permits to foreign nationals.
