The Russian Public Chamber is requesting President Dmitry Medvedev to
hold a meeting of the Russian Security Council in connection with the
murder of 12 people in Kushevskaya Cossack village in Krasnodar
Territory, Gazeta.ru reports, citing the Chamber’s website.
The document was signed by seven members of the Chamber, including the
head of the specialized commission, Anatoly Kucheren. The State Duma
committee on security will have an independent meeting on the murder,
the deputy head of the committee, Mikhail Grishankov, said in an
interview to Echo Moskvi (Echo of Moscow) radio station. Grishankov
called the murder ‘terror in the region’.
On November 5, in a two-storey house in Kushevskaya Cossack village
belonging to the Ametov family, the police found 12 people dead. The
owner of the house (a farmer), his wife, daughter-in-law and
granddaughter, two neighbours, guests from Rostov-on-Don, the
financial director of the ‘Aston’ company Vladimir Mironenko, his
wife, two daughters, father-in-law and mother-in-law were among the
murdered.
On Monday the "leader of a local criminal group", Sergey Tsapok, was
arrested, suspected of organizing the crime. On Tuesday the head of
the Investigation Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, was to meet the
locals of Kushevskaya. The meeting will be held on November 22 in the
administrative building of Kushevskaya. Bastrykin will personally have
talks with the citizens.
