Revenge for a brother killed in 2002 may be the motive for the murder
of 12 people in the Kushevskaya Cossack village of the Krasnodar
Territory, a grieving relative said, RIA Novosti reports.
The murders happened on November 5. The police found 12 people stabbed
to death, including 4 children. Six people were arrested. Sergey
Tsapka, businessman and ex-deputy of the Kushevskaya regional assembly
has been accused of organzing the killings.
The relative, named as Ametov, requested Tsapka be detained out of
fear for the life of his sister and himself. He believes that the
murder is revenge for the murder of his brother Nikolai Tsapka, who
was buried on November 4, 2002, judge Vera Danilova said.
Lawyer for the suspect Alla Golovina said that it is an unjustified
detention. There are no facts of connection with the murder of Tsapka.
She pointed out that Tsapka was killed on October 31, 2002, and buried
on November 1.
