Over 50 facilities, to be used at the Winter Olympic Games 2014 in
Sochi, will have been launched by the end of this year. Over 100
billion rubles have been invested in 2010, RIA Novosti reports, citing
vice-premier Victor Kozak at the united information center in Sochi.
He said that they had started construction of over 120 sports
facilities this year. Engineering and transport infrastructure are the
priority. 60 billion rubles were issued for solving ecological
problems.
Kozak said that construction of Olympic facilities is going according
to schedule and that problems which crop up are dealt with quickly,
such as the demand for metal construction.
The vice-premier said that 70% of the construction work has been
completed, taking into account the most time-consuming part –
preparation and organization. Kozak said that his Olympic construction
program has 298 facilities.
