Azerbaijani secondary school children will be prohibited from wearing
hijabs in classes, said the chairman of the Human Rights Committee of
the Milli Mejlis Rabiyat Aslanov, Trend reports.
"Azerbaijan is a democratic, secular and legal state. Relations
between the state and the citizen and, and in particular, the state's
attitude towards religion in Azerbaijan, are regulated on the basis of
these principles," he said.
Last Friday, an unauthorized rally was held in front of the Ministry
of Education in connection with the ban on wearing the hijab at
educational institutions throughout the country.
