The Director General of the Armenian-Russian company ArmRosgazprom
Karen Karapetyan and the acting mayor of Yerevan Taron Markaryan are
the candidates for the mayor position in Yerevan, deputy of the ruling
Republican Party of Armeni Artak Zakaryan said, News Armenia reports.
He said that the decisions were made with account of the work and
functions they mayor will need to realize.
The mayor will be elected on December 17.
The former Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan resigned on December 8
after an incident, when he beat up a member of the protocol service of
the presidential administration Aram Kandayan.
