The chairman of the Government of Kalmykia, Oleg Kichik, sent a letter to the parliament of Dagestan on Monday, asking it to deal with the high accident rate of transit transport driven by residents of Dagestan on the territory of Kalmykia, RIA Novosti reports.
The last accident with a transit bus from Dagestan occurred on Monday. Six people died and four were injured.
According to the Government of Kalmykia, out of 278 road accidents registered in the first nine months of 2010, every fifth accident was caused by drivers of transit transport (46 cases), and half of these drivers were residents of Dagestan (26 cases).
