The militants annihilated in the Ingush village of Ekazhevo, who included Alexander Tikhomirov, also known as Said Buryatsky, planned a large-scale attack in the North Caucasus with the use of suicide bombers.
"It was Said Buryatsky himself who was preparing the suicide attackers. The operational data of the imminent action by the militants got made it possible to prevent a large-scale terrorist attack," a high-ranking source from the law enforcement structures of the North Caucasus federal district told RIA Novosti.
The source said that prior to the raid the security officers had no information about the fact that Said Buryat was in Ekazhevo. Only later, in the course of investigation it was ascertained that he arrived in Ekazhevo and came into a house late in the evening of the day before the operation.
"It became known after the interrogation of apprehended militants and their accomplices," the source said.
