The Azerbaijani Ministry of Education has established a database of
children in need of parents, Trend reports.
The Education Minister, Misir Mardanov, said that in the second half
of 2010 eight children found families. 27 more are on the database.
There are 46 orphanages and boarding schools for 9874 children. 3860
of them live abroad. An earlier indicator put the figure at 4055
children.
The Azerbaijani Ministries of Education, Labor and Social Protection,
the State Committee for Family, Women and Children and UNICE signed a
memorandum on cooperation to find families for children.
The project is realized within the framework of the state programme
for children and alternative care for 2006-2015 in the Surakhan and
Azizbek Districts.
