Moscow's Domodedovo airport had its power supply cut off, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Sunday.
Airport employees said the power cut might have been caused by freezing rain that hit the Russian capital on Saturday.
The freezing rain turned roads into icy sheets in Moscow and prompted major railway traffic disturbances in the Moscow Region.
Some 100 localities had their electricity cut off, a spokesman for the Moscow Region emergencies said.
Russia's chief sanitary doctor, Gennady Onishchenko, recommended Muscovites to stay at home to avoid being injured on icy roads.
