Sandro Kvitashvili has become the head of the Tbilisi State University
of Javakhishvili, Georgia Online reports.
Kvitashvili said that he was surprised to receive the votes of all 12
members of the council.
He said that a lot needs to be done to make the university one of the
leading education centers in Europe. He has been studying the problems
of the university for 3 months. Kvitashvili stresses making the
university more financially independent.
The new university head commented on accusations coming from other
candidates for the position, who said that Kvitashvili had no right to
run in the elections. He said that such accusations come from people
who failed to understand the university charter.
The main activities will be aimed at improving the infrastructure and
implementation of internet resources and modern technologies.
