One person died in south Russia's North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria after a suspected explosive device went off in an apartment, officials said on Tuesday, RIA Novosti reports.
The blast occurred in a five-storey residential building in the republic's capital of Nalchik late on Monday.
"The preliminary cause of the blast is an explosive device," a spokesperson for the local emergency services said.
