Georgian patriarch and president open opera and music hall in Kutaisi

The Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili, and the Catholicos
Patriarch of All-Georgia, Ilia II, have opened the renovated opera
house and music hall in Kutaisi, Georgia Online reports.


The opera building and the music hall required approximately $2.87
million for restoration.


The first event at the music hall was a performance of the works of
Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All-Georgia, Holy and Blessed,
Archbishop of Mtskhet-Tbilisi and metropolitan of Pitsunda and
Tskhum-Abkhazia.


The president said that 2011 will be the Year of Kutaisi.
Saakashvili said that Kutaisi is one of the most beautiful cities. He
mentioned that he was celebrating a birthday in one of the city’s
cafes.
