The Georgian Ministry of Education and Science has announced the best
students and teachers of 2010, News Georgia cites the ministry’s
press-service.
A 10th-grader from the Tbilisi physics and maths school of Komarov,
Sandro Maludze, who has won the academic competition twice, was named
student of the year.
A maths teacher of school N26 in Rustavi (Eastern Georgia, Kvemo
Kartli Region), Zaza Melikidze, received most points in maths and
logic and was named teacher of the year.
The best teacher of the ‘Teach and learn together with Georgia’
project is Stefan Eger, who arrived in Georgia as a volunteer to teach
in the village of Shamgon in the Zugdid District (Western Georgia,
Samegrelo Region – Zemo Svaneti).
Levan Hazarashvili from Tbilisi school N199, Lana Gongadze from school
N155 and Georgy Kamushadze from school 56 were named ushers of the
year.
Aluda Goglidze from physics and maths school N42 in Vekua was named
headmaster of the year.
School N5 in Akhaltsikh (Eastern Georgia, Samtskhe-Javaheti Region)
was named public school of the year.
The lyceum ‘Mtsignobartukhutsesi’ has become the best private school
of the year.
Rusudan Chkhetia, head of the resource center Gldani-Nazdzaladev
District of Tbilisi, has become the best head of the resource center
in 2010.
The Georgian minister of education awarded the winners with special prizes.
