Georgia to continue healthcare reform

In 2011 Georgia will continue the large-scale healthcare system
reform, which began in 2010. The reform is aimed at introducing
international standards into all the medical institutions of the
country, Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri told a press
conference, News-Georgia reports.

At the current stage of the reform, the private sector is building 46
new clinics in the regions of the country.

According to the prime minister, only a few sectors will be left in
the state healthcare system, such as psychiatry, infectious diseases,
AIDS and tuberculosis.
