37,000 people were left without water in Pyatigorsk. According to
Interfax, an accident happened at the Kuban water pipeline in
Pyatigorsk on January 5, with over 5,000 houses, including over 500
multi-apartment houses, losing water supply. The pipeline diameter is
1000mm.
The main department of the Emergencies Ministry in Pyatigorsk has
established a crisis center, supervised by Igor Oder, the head of the
department. The head of the department’s press-service, Oleg
Degtyaryov, said that urgent repair works on the pipeline were
completed on January 5 at 22.50. Water was restored at 23.40.
The city administration has developed a schedule for reserve water
supplies, in case an emergency situation should arise.
