The Armenian Apostolic Church is celebrating Theophany and Christmas
on January 6, as a memorial of the birth and baptism of Christ.
The holiday started on the evening of January 5 with celebrations of
Christmas Eve and a Holy Liturgy. The liturgy will continue on January
6 with blessing of water.
Water has holy oil added and blessed. Worshippers take some of the
water home for the sick. It is believed to have special blessed
features.
Holy water should be treated as a sacred thing.
