New school to be built at Akhalkalaki

The Georgian Ministry of Education decided to have 130 pupils of the
Akhalkalaki school N3 attending a modern school, Georgia Online
reports.


The Minister of Education Dmitry Shashkin visited Akhalkalaki and
presented the new school project with the local authorities and the
Agency for Development of School and Science Infrastructure.


School N3 is a Georgian language school. It was damaged in an
earthquake of 1988.


The number of non-Georgian people willing to study at Georgian schools
has increased in the recent years. The school had 87 children in 2007,
today there are 130. The new school is expected to have 250 children.


Akhalkalaki has 5 schools, three of them are Armenian, one Russian and
one Georgian.
