First victims of new flu virus in Iran

About 13 people infected by a new flu virus have died in Iran, Iranian
Health Minister Marziya Vahid Dastjerdi said, Iranian news site yjc.ir
reports.


The first case of infection of the 'swine flu' virus was registered in
Iran on the 14th of June last year. It was brought to Tehran by a
16-year-old American of Iranian origin. On the 25th of November a
member of the Iranian Committee to Combat Infectious Diseases, Masud
Mardani, reported that 140 people had died from swine flu, while the
number of those infected with the virus increased from 3,128 to 3,672
people.
