In the Prokhladnensky region of Kabardino-Balkaria today police arrested
teenagers suspected of breaking nearly three dozen tombstones in the
cemetery, the Interior Ministry of the republic says.
"As a result of search operations in "hot pursuit" suspects in the crime
were detained - three young residents of the village aged 12,
14 and 15. One of them is a graduate of the local boarding school for
children from poor families," RIA Novosti
reports the Interior Ministry as saying.
In the presence of legal representatives the teenagers repented
of their action. Two of them, who are over 14, are facing criminal
responsibility for an act of vandalism. The Criminal Code provides for up to three months detention.
