Two militants have been shot dead near the village of Starii Cherek in
Kabardino Balkaria. According to the police, a suspicious car was
stopped to carry out document checks, when the passengers opened fire.
Two militants were killed in the ensuing gunfight.
Both were identified as being wanted for attacks on police.
