Earthquake jolts south Iran

An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richet scale hit souther Iran's Hormozgan province on Wednesday, reports RIA Novosti.

The epicentre of the earthquake, which occurred at 3.28 pm local time, is located near the town of Ruda. There is no information on victims or damage.

Iran is located in the one of the most seismically active regions on the Earth.
