Dam destroyed at Lake Sarisu in Azerbaijan

Lake Sarisu, located in the regions of Sabirabad, Saatli and Imishli,
broke a dam towards the village of Muradbeyli in Sabirabad region,
local residents told APA. According to the witnesses a number of
houses were flooded in the villages of Muradbeyli and Gasimbeyli.
Muradbeyli was isolated from nearby regions.
Chairman of the emergency commission of Saatli region Ilham Guliyev
said the villages of Narimanken, Musali and Dallar in Saatli region,
as well as the settlement of Novruzlu, surrounded by Sarisu Lake and
the Kur River, are faced with a serious threat. Water is flowing
towards these villages. People are being evacuated from the danger
areas. Rescue work is currently being carried out.
