State of emergency in four North Ossetian regions

A state of emergency was introduced in the Prigorodniy, Digorskiy,
Alagirskiy, Ardonskiy regions of North Ossetia due to river flooding.
Preliminary damage estimates amount to 800 million rubles.


Private houses, transport infrastructure and agricultural lands were
submerged after heavy rains led to rising water levels in the rivers
Ardon, Saudagdon, Terek, Ursdon, Khataldon, Tsraudon, Mayramadag,
Dur-Dur and Sunge, Interfax reports.


The damage in the Prigorodniy region is estimated at 177 million
rubles, in Digorskiy region – 259 million rubles, in Ardonskiy – 313
million rubles.


Alagirskiy region saw 7500 meters of embankments, 8 bridges and 4700
meters of inter-village roads damaged.
