The damage caused to a retirement home and 20 houses hit by a hurricane in the Galiugayev Cossack village in the Kurskiy region of Stavropol Territory has reached 3.6 million rubles, RIA Novosti reports, citing the head of the administration of the Kurskiy municipal region, Sergey Loginov.
The hurricane started on Monday, damaging 70% of the roof of the retirement home, with 34 people having to move to another part of the building.
Thousands of houses lost their gas supply. One third of the village, over 3000 people, lost their electricity supply. 20 houses suffered severe damage.
Loginov hopes that all electricity will be restored today.
