Emergency declared in 7 Russian regions


Russian president imposed a state of emergency in seven Russian Regions (Vladimirsky, Voronezhsky, Moskovsky, Nizhegorodsky and Ryazansky regions and the Republics of Mordovia and Mari El). Russian Army forces are engaged in extinguishing the fires. Fires broke out in the Central and Privolzhsky districts and at the end of July several villages caught fire. The area covered by fires amounts to 500,000 hectares. There have been at least 34 casualities.
