Suspect in Baku mosque blast extradited to Azerbaijan

Samir Mehdiyev, one of the leaders of the terrorist organization "The Brothers of the Forest ", has been extradited from Pakistan to Azerbaijan.

Members of the gang are suspected of carrying out a bomb attack on Abu-Bakr mosque in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku on August 17, 2008, reports Interfax.

Mehdiyev illegally crossed the borders of Iran, Turkey and Georgia, and recently stayed in Pakistan until being arrested.

Members of the Brothers of the Forest gang were handed sentences of between two and fifteen years behind bars last November over a series
of incidents, including the explosion at the Abu-Bakr mosque
