The plane with the body of the Polish President Lech Kaczynski, who died in the crash of the Tu-154 plane near Smolensk, has flown to Warsaw. The body of his wife will be conveyed to Warsaw later. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin took part in the mourning farewell ceremony.
According to ITAR-TASS, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and brother of the late President Jaroslaw Kaczynski will receive the plane in Warsaw. The aircraft will arrive in Poland at about 16.00 Moscow time.
The state commission established in connection with the tragedy, is headed by Vladimir Putin. Vladimir Putin spent on the scene the whole evening of April 11. He conducted conferences in connection with the accident until late at night. In addition, he laid a wreath at the site of the crash together with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The Tu-154 airplane carrying Lech Kaczynski crashed near Smolensk in the morning of April 10. The bodies of other victims have been sent to Moscow where they will undergo an identification procedure because there is no equipment necessary for genetic examination, reports RIA Novosti.
