Ministry of Nature to introduce ecological monitoring system in Sochi

Yuri Trutnev, the minister of nature of Russia, has suggested introducing a system of ecological monitoring in Sochi, the Olympic capital of 2014, RIA Novosti reports.

"We have to construct a chain of observatory stations for monitoring the environment in a real time rigime" he said.

The system will be railway-based - special carriages will be equipped with devices designed for ecological monitoring. The information provided by the stations will be open to the public.
