The Azerbaijani football team ‘Inter’ will play against Armenia's
‘Mika’ in the quarter final of the CIS Cup in St. Petersburg. The
match became possible after the third round of Group B.
The Armenian team ‘Mika’ entered the quarter-finals after
Kazakhstan's ‘Tobol’ and ‘Skonto’ of Latvia were defeated. The Armenian team won the match against Uzbekistan's ‘Bunedkor’.
The 2005-2006 CIS Cup saw the Azerbaijani club ‘Neftchi’ play Armenia's ‘Punik’. The team from Baku won the
first game 2:0. In the second leg, ‘Punik’ refused to play against the
Azerbaijani team and left Moscow. ‘Neftchi’ went on to win the cup.
In this year's championship, ‘Inter’ has not let in a single goal in
Group A, earning itself 9 points in the process.
