Stavropol to encourage young athletes

Stavropol deputies have introduced a law 'On measures of social
support for athletes and their coaches'.

According to Interfax, the bill was initiated by the governor of the
region, Valeria Gajewski, after the successful performance of
Stavropol athletes at the World Junior Athletics Championships in
Canada and the first Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore.

Now young athletes and their coaches will be able to qualify for
payments from the regional budget.
