Queiroz of Portugal to become head coach of Iranian national football team

Portuguese native Carlos Queiroz will become the head coach of the
Iranian national football team, the website sport360.com reports.

At the present moment Queiroz is on a visit to Tehran, where he is
holding talks with officials of the Iranian team.

In an interview to "Sport360" Queiroz confirmed there were
negotiations about his appointment.

Carlos Queiroz used to be head of Sporting Lisbon (Portugal) and Real
Madrid (Spain), as well as the national teams of the UAE and South
Africa.

Queiroz was forced to resign as head coach of the national team of
Portugal due to unsuccessful performances of the team at the World Cup
in South Africa, as well as in the qualifying round of the 2012
European Championship.
