Georgia has beaten Armenia in a frriendly match 2:1. Alexander
Iashvili of Temuri Ketsbaia scored the first goal in the 22nd minute.
Nalchik Spartak's David Siradze scored for the Georgian team in the
34th minute. Edgar Manuchyan scored the second goal for the Georgian
team on the 63rd minute.
The Armenian national team is a competitor for Russia in the
qualification rounds for Euro 2012. Their match will be held on March
26. Vardan Minasyan's team has 7 points and shares the 2-4 places with
the Irish and Slovak teams in B-group, headed by Russia (9 points).
The Russian football team playing Iran at the Zayed Stadium in Abu
Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) with the Iranian national team. Only
3,000 tickets were sold, with the arena capable of holding 45,000
people. The tickets cost $20-100.
One sixth of the spectators were Russian fans, mainly coming from
Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
Media said earlier that only 5 Iranians were to watch the match. The
poor interest is due to celebrations of the Islamic Revolution Day of
1979.
European and Russian bookies give expect the Russian team to win.
The British bookie office William Hill evaluates the Russian victory
with a ration of 1.73, a tie with 3.50 and Iranian victory with 4.80.
The Austrian bookie office Bwin has similar ratings: Russia - 1.75,
tie - 3.40, Iran - 4.60. The "Marathon" office in Russia gives 1.68
to Russia, 3.85 - tie and 5.35 - Iran.
It will be the first match of the Russian national team in 2011.
