IOC representatives inspect the construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi

Representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the inspection visit to Sochi noted progress in the preparation of the resort city for the Winter Olympics in 2014, Interfax reports.

"In fact, during today's visit with Dmitry Kozak we received the information that 40% of the construction work has been done, and by the end of 2011 will be completed about 75% of all construction works" said the chairman of IOC Coordination Commission, Jean-Claude Kelly at a press conference on Thursday.

He noted that IOC members come to Russia, "almost every month" and what they see “can be called absolutely incredible," said Killy.

According to him, for the first time in the history of the IOC  hosting of  the Games has been entrusted to the country which has "to build virtually 80% of the infrastructure necessary for competition."
