The construction of a new regional center for athletics on the basis of the Olympic Reserve School in Stavropol is planned to start in 2012. The costs of the sports complex will amount to about 750 million rubles, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Head of the Stavropol region committee on Physical Culture and Sports Victor Osipov.
The project should be completed by 2015. The new center will be track and field arena, a sports hall for 3000 seats and a 50-meter pool. In addition, the existing stadium of the school of Olympic reserve will be reconstructed.
In addition, according to Osipov, another new stadium, “Krasny metallist”, will be built already in 2011. This project will cost more than 33 million rubles.
