Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has become the head of the monitoring council of the Russia-2018 organization committee, established to host the World Football Championship 2018, RIA Novosti cites the government press-service as saying.
The monitoring council includes Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov, president’s assistants Arkady Dvorkin and Alexander Abramov, Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov, head of the Federal Customs Service Andrey Belyanov, Vice-Premier and Minister of Finances Alexey Kudrin, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Regional Development Victor Basargin.
The council also includes Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, Governor of Moscow Region Boris Gromov, Governor of Saint-Petersburg Valentina Matviyenko and Tatarstan head Rustam Minnikhanov.
