The new stadium was opened on May 11. The first match concluded 5:2. Goals for the football star team were scored by Diego Maradona and Ivan Zamorano. Anzor Ismailov, Timur Dzhabrailov, Andrey Fedkov and Zaur Sadayev (twice) scored goals for the “Caucasus”.
The star team consisted of Diego Maradona, Alain Boghossia, Franco Baresi, Luís Figo, Manuel Amoros, Roberto Ayala, Robbie Fowler, Enzo Francescoli, Steve McManaman, Jean-Pierre Papin, Christian Vieri, Ivan Zamorano, Fabien Barthez and other world football stars.
The “Caucasus” team consisted of Ramzan Kadyrov, Magomed Daudov, Odes Baisultanov, Rinat Dasayev, Alexander Khloponin, Haydar Alkhanov, Apiti Alautdinov, Timur Dzhabrailov, Andrey Fedkov, Khapnash Ibragimov, Adlan Katsayev, Zaur Sadayev, Ramzan Tsutsulayev, Arsen Kanokov and Anzor Ismailov.
