The coaches of the Armenian national football team, headed by Vardan
Minasyan, have announced the list of players of the national team to
play against Russia in the qualification rounds for Euro 2012 in
Saint-Petersburg on June 4, News Armenia reports.
The list includes:
Goal-keepers Roman Berezovsky (Himki, Russia) and Stepan Kazaryan (Banants);
Quarter-backs Sarkis Ovsepyan, Artur Yuspashyan, Artak Yedigaryan (all
from Pyunik), Agvan Mkrtchyan, Grayr Mkoyan (Mika), Robert Arzumanyan
(Yagelonia, Poland), Levon Ayrapetyan (Lekhia, Poland), Valery
Alexanyan (Uliss);
Half-backs Karlen Mkrtchyan (Metallurg, Ukraine), Artur Yedigaryan
(Pas, Iran), Levon Pachajanyan (Sanan Naft, Iran), Gevork Kazaryan and
Marcos Pizelli (both from Punik), Henry Mkhitaryan (Shakhtyor,
Ukraine), Artak Dashyan (Banants), Artak Grigoryan (Uliss);
Strikers Zaven Badoyan (Impuls), Edgar Manucharyan (Punik) and Yuri
Movsisyan (Krasnodar Russia).
Training matches will be held at the Yerevan Football Academy from May
31 to June 2. Training in Saint-Petersburg will be held on June 3.
A press conference with the senior coach of the Armenian national team
will be organized on May 3 at 19.30 (local time).
The first matches between Armenia and Russia were held in Yerevan on
March 26, resulting in a draw.
The Armenian team has 8 points, taking fourth position in B Group.
Slovakia, Russia and Ireland have 10 points each, Macedonia – 4
points, Andorra – 0 points.
