Winners of academic competitions and chess games will receive annual scholarships worth $1562 since August 1. An order for such payments was signed by Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, Georgia Online reports.
Winners will become people's artists, painters or the Shota Rustaveli Prize winners. Their scholarship will reach $645.
Finances will be provided by the Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports for sportsmen and the Ministry of Culture for artists and painters.
