Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov was elected the new president
of the Olympic committee of Russia on Thursday, RIA Novosti reports.
Zhukov was the only candidate and got 204 out of 213 votes.
He the committee would strive to achieve "maximum results at the
London Olympics and then win in the Olympics in Sochi."
He also said the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics would "open a new chapter
in the Olympic movement and sport in Russia."
