Armenia beats Slovakia in Euro-2012 qualification match

The Armenian national football team has beaten Slovakia 4:0 in a
Euro-2012 qualification match, News Armenia reports.


Four goals were scored in the second half.


The first goal was scored by “Krasnodar” forward Yuri Movsisyan in the
57th minute, then by “Shakhter” defender Genrikh Mkhitaryan in the
70th minute. The third was scored by striker Gevork Kazaryan of
“Metallurg”. Striker Artur Sarkisov of “Shinnik” put in the final
goal.

Armenia holds third position in Group B of Euro-2012. Its victory over
Slovakia gives it a chance to enter the final.


The Armenian team has 14 points, 3 points behind Ireland. Slovakia
also has 14 points.


Macedonia beat Andorra 1:0, accruing 7 points and fifth position.


Andorra is at the bottom of the group. All teams have played 8
matches. Armenia has the best ranking, with 17 goals and 7 misses.


A home game will be held against the Macedonian team in Armenia on
October 7. Ireland could play the decisive match with Armenia on
October 11.
